Colors on Sundering Shadows

%^CYAN%^SYNTAX%^RESET%^

Enable colors: %^ORANGE%^<set tern ansi>%^RESET%^
Disable colors: %^ORANGE%^<set term unknown>%^RESET%^

%^CYAN%^DESCRIPTION%^RESET%^

You can use %^ORANGE%^<set>%^RESET%^ to choose whether to play the game with or without colors, or without certain types of colors. We support many terminal options, and more can be added. See %^ORANGE%^<help set>%^RESET%^ for more customization options.

You can use colors to crayon your adjective and describe, as well as your say and speech pattern, emotes, books, letters, background and any item you craft. There are 15 colors available to players, all of which can be accessed using the color codes below. They were first developed for Nightmare Mud by Pinkfish@Discworld.

%^CYAN%^%^ULINE%^Color Codes%^RESET%^

The following color codes and their associated colors are available on Sundering Shadows:

  %^RESET%^%^BLUE%^%%%^^^BLUE%%%^^^ %^BOLD%^%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^BLUE%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_BLUE%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^B_BLUE%%%^^^%^RESET%^
  %^RESET%^%^CYAN%^%%%^^^CYAN%%%^^^ %^BOLD%^%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^CYAN%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_CYAN%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^B_CYAN%%%^^^%^RESET%^
  %^RESET%^%^GREEN%^%%%^^^GREEN%%%^^^ %^BOLD%^%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^GREEN%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_GREEN%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^B_GREEN%%%^^^%^RESET%^
  %^RESET%^%^RED%^%%%^^^RED%%%^^^ %^BOLD%^%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^RED%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_RED%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^B_RED%%%^^^%^RESET%^
  %^RESET%^%^ORANGE%^%%%^^^ORANGE%%%^^^ %^BOLD%^%%%^^^YELLOW%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_ORANGE%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^B_ORANGE%%%^^^%^RESET%^
  %^RESET%^%^MAGENTA%^%%%^^^MAGENTA%%%^^^ %^BOLD%^%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^MAGENTA%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_MAGENTA%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^B_MAGENTA%%%^^^%^RESET%^
  %^RESET%^%%%^^^WHITE%%%^^^ %^BOLD%^%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^WHITE%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_WHITE%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^B_WHITE%%%^^^%^RESET%^
                %^BOLD%^%^BLACK%^%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^BLACK%%%^^^ %^RESET%^%^B_BLACK%^%^WHITE%^%%%^^^B_BLACK%%%^^^%^RESET%^

%%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^ Sets all text following this code to its %^BOLD%^bold value%^RESET%^.
%%%^^^ULINE%%%^^^ Sets all text following this code to its %^ULINE%^underlined value%^RESET%^.
%%%^^^RESET%%%^^^ Resets all colors and modifiers and sets color back to white.

You can also use ANSI color codes, using the format of %%%^^^CXXX%%%^^^, where XXX is the three digit color code. %%%^^^CRST%%%^^^ can be used to return to the default text formatting, similar to the way %%%^^^RESET%%%^^^ works.

%^CYAN%^%^ULINE%^Note%^RESET%^

%^MAGENTA%^*%^RESET%^ Do not use plain black (%%%^^^BLACK%%%^^^). Plain black will meld into the background of most clients. Don't use it even with background colors as clients may disable background colors.
%^MAGENTA%^*%^RESET%^ Put a %%%^^^RESET%%%^^^ at the start and end of all your colored works.
%^MAGENTA%^*%^RESET%^ These are reserved for staff (immortals, avatars, etc). If you use background color make sure you're using high contrast color. Otherwise many clients just won't see the text you've written. Most terminals default to bright colors for background colors.

%^ULINE%^%^CYAN%^Troubleshooting

If your colors look odd or cause problems, like color-bleeding or strange word-wrapping, please check your text for the following culprits:

%^MAGENTA%^*%^RESET%^ Have you added a <%%%^^^RESET%%%^^^> every time you wish to change from %^BOLD%^%^GREEN%^bright%^RESET%^ to %^GREEN%^dim%^RESET%^ colors?
%^MAGENTA%^*%^RESET%^ Have you added a <%%%^^^RESET%%%^^^> to the start and end of the text you wish to color?
%^MAGENTA%^*%^RESET%^ Have you ensured that there is a <%^GREEN%^ %%%^^^ %^RESET%^> at the start and end of each color, like this: %%%^^^BOLD%%%^^^%%%^^^BLACK%%%^^^?
%^MAGENTA%^*%^RESET%^ Are there any additional characters in your code, such an extra %^RESET%^%^GREEN%^%%^RESET%^ or %^RESET%^%^GREEN%^^%^RESET%^?
