Mundo Oscuro -- porting notes

Source: git clone https://github.com/gllort/mud (commit e2511b4fc189cfcdeeac44242d0700b5382c4680, “Initial commit”, 2016-01-28; cloned 2026-09-04). Config name Mundo Oscuro. Author credits in-tree: Cain@MundoOscuro; error handler is Lima-derived (“Codigo original de las librerias Lima. Modificado por Cain@MundoOscuro 10/Jul/2003”). Slug mundoscuro, number 965, port 40273.

This collection’s copy is a snapshot, not a live mirror. Local driver-compat and play-bar fixes mean it has diverged from upstream.

0. Layout

Repo root is not the mudlib. Only lib/ was copied into raw/ (~484 .c). Ignored: bundled driver/ (MudOS-era source) and lib.20040222.tar.gz. Original config driver/etc/mundooscuro.cfg: master : /kernel/master, simul_efun : /kernel/simul_efun, global include : "/include/global.h".

valid_read / valid_write already return 1. FTP/IRC listen paths were already commented out upstream.

1. Encoding: ISO-8859-1, not GB18030

Spanish Latin-1 archive. Default convert_lib.sh GB18030 pass would have silently mojibake’d the 17 Latin-1 .c files (same trap as ninetears). Ran convert_lib.sh with ISO-8859-1: already_utf8=591 converted=22 lossy=0. Non-ASCII identifier tokens were then folded (ñ→n) and the four files that used them as *names* were renamed: daños.h→danos.h, tablas/daños.lpc→danos.lpc, empuñar.lpc→empunar.lpc, apuñalar.lpc→apunalar.lpc.

2. MySQL is mandatory

Accounts, ranks, groups, and channels all go through db_connect / db_exec. kernel/daemons/initd.lpc check_database() calls shutdown(-1) on connect failure, so the mud will not stay up without a server. Password comes from valid_database() in kernel/valid.lpc: "BN1TKUBr1p7x". User mud, database mundooscuro.

Host must be 127.0.0.1, not localhost. localhost uses /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock, which does not exist when MariaDB is in Docker. Set in include/config.h (BD_HOST).

Docker recipe used on this worker (leave the container running; do not start the leftover nitan170911_mysql container — wrong schema):

crea.sql is the upstream schema with TYPE=InnoDB rewritten to ENGINE=InnoDB (MariaDB 10 rejects TYPE=). inserts.sql is the upstream seed (cain/admin, ranks dios/creador/semidios/admin, …). canales.sql registers rank/group channels the seed never created (grupos were inserted via raw SQL, so GRUPOS->crear() never called CANALES->register()).

WASM has no MySQL. wasm_status is limited. Native play is fully verified. Do not treat a WASM “connecting…” hang as a mudlib bug — initd will shut the driver down when db_connect fails.

3. FluffOS dialect / driver-compat

Catalogued as AGENTS.md §6.9 (ident?() + string-macro ->).

1. ? in identifiers is illegal. Mechanical rename foo?( → foo_q( (171 names). Predicate style is now inmortal_q(), nombre_q(), inmortales_q(). A second pass caught leftovers after the ñ-fold. One string-literal casualty: "Salir de todos modos? (s/n): " became "...modos_q(s/n)" in comandos/jugador/salir.lpc — restored. An earlier accidental rewrite of the login hembra? prompt was also reverted; keep hembra_q() only as the real predicate in sexo.lpc.

2. MACRO -> func( parsed as class member (Left argument of -> is not a class). Daemon/table macros rewritten to efun::call_other(MACRO, "func", ...). Empty-arg form must be call_other(X, "Y") with no trailing comma. This lib’s sefun call_other.lpc overrides call_other and routes non-local origin through CALLER->protected_call — shims must use efun::call_other. serror(x) is efun::call_other(ERROR, "error_message", x).

3. PACKAGE_UIDS stubs in kernel/master.lpc: get_root_uid / get_bb_uid / creator_file all return "mudlib" (matches ROOT in config.h).

4. string array / bare array types → string * / mixed * in nombres.lpc, triggers.lpc, verbo.lpc, ir.lpc, base_room.lpc.

5. __HEARTBEAT_INTERVAL__ is missing on this driver. Hard-coded hb = 1 in global/personaje/propiedades.lpc.

6. FluffOS db_connect returns an error string on failure, not 0. New sefun kernel/simul_efun/system/dbcompat.lpc (included from simul_efun.lpc) wraps db_connect / db_exec (string error → store and return -1), plus db_error / db_errno (1062 Duplicate, 1216/1452 FK) / db_affected_rows / db_insert_id via LAST_INSERT_ID().

7. AUTO_INCREMENT inserts VALUES('', ...) rejected by MariaDB for INT columns. Changed to VALUES(NULL, ...) in canales.lpc, users.lpc, grupos.lpc. Same TYPE= → ENGINE= rewrite in include/sql.h.

8. initd skips /kernel/daemons/ftp.lpc. It does not compile (functionals capture locals). The listen path is already commented out upstream. Do not add this lib to a boot loop that expects an FTP port.

9. Boot warnings only: unused locals, nested /* in comments. The missing author_file / domain_file pair was added to kernel/master.lpc on 2026-10-05 (see that dated section).

4. Play-bar bugs (programming, not content)

1. crear_ficha() saved the .o before sexo() / raza() / clase() / move(). First reconnect then failed cargar_raza() (implicit 0 when fichero_raza is unset) and move(ultimo_lugar_q()) (MOVE_NO_DEST). Reordered: apply attrs, move to /global/room/entrada.lpc, *then* save.

2. guardar() wrote .lpc after conversion. Upstream saved nombre?() + ".c"; convert_lib.sh rewrote that to .lpc. Login / crear_ficha / cargar_ficha all use .o. Fixed guardar() to .o so salir actually updates the ficha (Ficha grabada. verified live).

3. VOID pointed at /global/room/void, which never existed. The room file is vacio.lpc. include/mudlib.h now points VOID at /global/room/vacio.

4. Leftover debug printfs dumped object graphs at the player: login.lpc crear_clase(), mirar.lpc can_mirar*, dominios/cielo/comun.lpc create() (printf("%O\n", APO)). Removed. These were upstream leftovers, not conversion artifacts.

5. Immortal login died on a missing rank channel. Seed created grupos/rangos via SQL, so admin had no row in canales. inmortal.lpc cargar_ficha() treated add_channel() failure as fatal. Softened to a warning; grupos.start() now registers a channel for every loaded group that CANALES doesn’t already know.

5. Admin seeding

find_admin_q() only auto-promotes when sizeof(inmortales) <= sizeof(SYSTEM_USERS) (mudlib, nobody). The seed already has human immortals, so the first fluffos registration stays mortal unless SQL-promoted:

Then reboot (USERS loads inmortales into memory at start()). Existing seed account cain / password a is below LOGIN_MIN_PASS 5; leftover from upstream, not used here.

Player body for immortals is /kernel/inmortal (inherits /global/jugador). who prints Fluffos. mirar prefixes [file_name] for immortals.

6. Live verification (2026-09-04, after §9 formatter)

Driver: ~/src/fluffos/build-debug/src/driver config.fluffos (cwd libs/mundoscuro/work), port 40273. MariaDB container mundoscuro_mysql on 127.0.0.1:3306.

• Boot: warnings only. Accepting telnet connections on 0.0.0.0:40273. work/log/{catch,runtime,error} were never created (error_handler writes those; a missing file here means no caught/runtime errors, not a dead log — log/debug.log *did* receive this boot’s compiler warnings).
• Login fluffos / Mud@2026 → prompt >.
• mirar: [/dominios/cielo/comun] / Torre del destino: Gran Salón / Sala de la Creación text / exits este, norte, oeste. (Reconnect after a previous comun walk; first-ever landing is Entrada a los Reinos, exit comun.)
• score: Puntos de Vida: 1/1 Energia: 1/1.
• ficha: Humano / Guerrero, six attributes, guild Ninguno.
• who: Fluffos.
• inventario: No llevas nada encima.
• salir: Ficha grabada. / Gracias por jugar!
• English look / quit print ¿Qué? (config default fail message). That is the parser, not a broken command hook.

New-character registration was exercised earlier the same day (varón / humano / guerrero) before the crear_ficha save-order fix; the leftover crear_clase %O dump was visible then and is now gone.

§9 formatter: 485 .lpc, 482 rewritten, 0 errors. Blind-spot greps (: : func(, \\ n, spaced CJK) clean. Re-boot + mirar/score/salir still clean after the format pass.

7. Known leftover / not fixed

• Starting HP/energy are 1/1 until the player spends time in ajustar (chargen attribute assignment). Content, not a port bug.
• entrada.lpc still has the placeholder DESCRIPCION string — upstream never wrote a room desc for the landing room.
• /kernel/daemons/ftp.lpc still does not compile; skipped at preload.
• Zorimeth Underdark rooms now compile (see §10.7) but remain unfinished content (LONG placeholders, no NPCs/shops in-tree).
• Do not commit work/fichas/<letter>/*.o player saves, log/, or raw/.
• 928/929/932 header-encrypted 7z and leftover Dead Souls drivers on this worker are unrelated; do not touch them.

8. Config

libs/mundoscuro/config.fluffos: external_port_1 : telnet 40390 (§10.7 native playtest; was 40273). No binary port. mudlib directory is the absolute work/ path. fichas/{a..z}/ created for player saves.

深度功能测试（§10.7，2026-09-13）

Native only — WASM is limited (no MySQL package). Accounts, ranks, groups, and channels all require db_connect; initd check_database() shuts the driver down on failure. Do not treat a WASM “connecting…” hang as a mudlib bug.

DB: MariaDB container mundoscuro_mysql on 127.0.0.1:3306 already up (schema mundooscuro, user mud). Host must be 127.0.0.1 not localhost (Docker socket). Verified jugadores / inmortales rows including seeded fluffos admin.

Boot: cd libs/mundoscuro && ~/src/fluffos/build-debug/src/driver config.fluffos, port 40390, PID owned by this session (cwd work/ after chdir). Forbidden sibling PIDs left untouched. Accepting telnet; expected compiler warnings only (unused locals, nested /*).

Playthrough:

• Login fluffos / Mud@2026 → prompt; mirar Gran Salón; score 1/1 HP/energy; ficha Humano/Guerrero; who; inventario.
• Explore cielo: norte rangos, este canales, oeste grupos; after #include <mudlib.h> prepend on all 294 Zorimeth ciudad_*.lpc, go / walk ciudad_0 ↔ ciudad_1 works (title Zorimeth, placeholder LONG).
• Create moqin107 (varón / humano / guerrero) → Entrada a los Reinos → comun; salir Ficha grabada.; reconnect lands ultimo_lugar comun. Immortal reconnect after save in rangos also persisted.
• Shop: N/A — no comprar/vender/tienda verbs or shop rooms in archive (¿Qué?).
• Combat: archive has matar + COMBATE daemon but no placed NPCs. Added tiny fixture work/global/npc_rata.lpc (named rata + raza("humano") for body/forma). clone → dejar rata → matar rata → “Empiezas a atacar a Rata.” and hit messages. Hardened combate.lpc (skip/destructed fighters, empty atacando) and zona_impacto_q empty-body guard so quit no longer floods /log/runtime. Message $V/$A substitution still incomplete (content WIP). Removed leftover printf in dejar.lpc.
• Guild room go /dominios/cielo/rooms/cofradia.lpc loads (Cofradia de Asesinos; no exits).

Logs this boot:

• Live driver debug.log: libs/mundoscuro/log/debug.log (pre-chdir open from cwd beside config.fluffos; mtime matches boot). One ciudad_0 syntax error from the pre-patch go, then clean after mudlib.h fix. No FATAL.
• Mudlib error_handler logs under work/log/:

- catch: pre-patch Zorimeth load failure only; mtime early in boot; no further catch after fix. - runtime: flooded during first combat before combate/cuerpo patches; stable (0 new lines) across post-fix fight + quit. /log/error never created this boot.

深度功能测试（§10.7，2026-10-05）— 主控 author_file()/domain_file()

驱动的 mudlib_stats 包在主控载入时各调用一次 author_file(<主控文件>) 和 domain_file("/")。本库主控没有这两个 apply，所以每次启动都打印 author_file() in the master file does not work, using root_uid as fallback 和 domain_file() in the master file does not work, using bb_ui as fallback 两行，网页版每位访客的终端里都看得到。kernel/master.lpc 补上了这两个 apply：作者返回 get_root_uid()，域返回 get_bb_uid()，正是驱动缺少它们时所用的值。域名等于 backbone 域时，驱动让对象沿用创建者的域，与没有这个 apply 时相同（KB 06 §7.222）。用 lpcc config.fluffos /nonexistent.lpc 前后对比，主控载入段只少了这两行。

深度功能测试（§10.7，2026-10-05）— 编译警告清理、命令历史从未记录

需要 MySQL 容器 mundoscuro_mysql 运行（重启后要 docker start mundoscuro_mysql），否则 initd 在 check_database() 失败时 shutdown(-1)，lpc_warnings.py 的整树扫描也因此一个文件都没编译（lpcc --batch 在预载阶段就退出）。

1. 编译警告：启动 2 条 → 0，整树 22 条 → 0。kernel/master.lpc 的 error_handler 删未用的 trace；kernel/simul_efun/security/call_other.lpc 整段被注释掉的旧实现里多出的一个 /* 删掉；lpc_warnings.py --fix 删了 20 个未用局部变量（复核 36 个被删声明，0 个需要处理）；global/object/nombres.lpc 的 determinante_q(string gg, string nn) 参数实为性别/单复数整数（赋给 int、与 FEMENINO/SINGULAR 比较），改为 int，无参调用行为不变。 2. 原作者的编译错误：tablas/danos.lpc 用了未定义的 MUERTE（include/danos.h 里致死等级叫 MORTAL），整张伤害表载入失败；global/arma.lpc 的 tipo_dano_q() 声明返回 string *、实际返回 int *，武器基类编译失败，global/daemons/combate.lpc 接收它的局部变量同样改成 int *。两处修好后武器基类与伤害表都能载入。 3. 命令历史从未记录。 global/jugador/shell.lpc 的 process_input() 用 TP->add_history(input)，而 history.lpc 的 add_history() 是 protected，经 call_other 调用一律被拒，驱动每条命令打印一次 apply() with insufficient permission ... add_history，historial 永远是空的。按本文件已有的 /* Extern */ 原型写法声明 add_history()，直接调用（TP == this_object() 时）。实测：mirar、score、who 之后 historial 列出这三条，驱动输出不再有权限警告。 4. 仍未编译、属原作者未完成的文件（不改）：comandos/jugador/mv.lpc（半截 cp 代码贴在函数外）、client.lpc/server.lpc（套接字试验，socket.h 不存在）、kernel/daemons/ftp.lpc（见上文，initd 已跳过）。kernel/simul_efun/filesystem/* 的报错是被单独编译的 sefun 片段，在 simul_efun 里编译时没有问题。 5. 验证：全新启动 0 警告；新建角色（男/人类/战士）→ mirar、score、ficha、who、inventario、comun、salir（Ficha grabada.）→ 重新登录 → historial 正常。测试角色 qatestb 的存档和数据库行已删除。fluffos 管理员账号不在当前容器的数据库里（容器数据早于该账号），这是本机数据库状态，不是代码问题。

• 2026-10-14: FluffOS 970d9f09 warns Float value truncated to int. global/comandos/ajustar.lpc stores ceil(maxact * pciento / 100) (an integer division, so the value is whole) into an int twice; both now spell it to_int(...), same value. The scan needs the mundoscuro_mysql container running (docker start mundoscuro_mysql), or initd shuts the driver down at boot and every object reads as failing.

存档里的 .c 文件名改成 .lpc（2026-10-21，KB 03 §4.2 第 9 项）

存档里写着 "/d/city/npc/wei.c" 这样的文件名；extract 时源文件已经全部改成 .lpc，而驱动对带扩展名的路径只认字面，new() / load_object() / move() 都找不到它，调用方多半把失败当成「没有这个东西」悄悄跳过。本库 8 个存档共 19 处按 scripts/lpc_fix_save_dotc.py 改成 .lpc（只改 .lpc 存在而 .c 不存在的字符串；玩家存档、备份、留言板、巫师目录和文件索引缓存不动）。改动：/fichas/c/cain.o（6 处）、/fichas/c/calsh.o（2 处）、/fichas/e/eladar.o（1 处）、/fichas/h/herumir.o（1 处）（等共 8 个存档）。
