Subject: mud compendium for WWW
Status: R

Greetings,
Currently I am compiling a MUD compendium for the WWW. Amongst other
mud-related items would like a mudlist with info about each mud in it.
Wondering if you would like eastern pig to be on that list and if so could I
get some basic info about it to put on the list. If you want to be on it
just fill in the following and send it back...thanx :).

The following info is what i am after:

MUD NAME:

MUD EMAIL ADDRESS:

ADDRESS:

THEME:

ADMIN(s):

MUDLIB:

DRIVER:

REAL LIFE LOCATION:

WEB PAGE (if applicable):

OTHER COMMENTS (optional):

CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS(wont appear on the review list):

While most of the above is pretty self explanitory thought
I would throw in a few details about each area to be on
the safe side.

*NAME - While I already know the name of the MUD, thought
I should ask you to add it in since it gives you the
opportunity add in the name of the mud exactly how you
would like it to appear in the list. Exact wording,
correct cases etc.

*ADDRESS - The address of the MUD. This can be the IP name
or number (so long as its valid)..your choice. You should
know in the MUD index listing though it lists the MUD name
and with the IP number after it if it influences your
decision one way or another on what you would like to put
in here.

*MUD EMAIL ADDRESS - An address people can contact if they
have queries etc. about the MUD. This might be an address
specifically set up for the MUD, just an admins address
for contact, etc.

*THEME - Theme is pretty self-explanitory...Science Fiction,
Fantasy, Star Trek, etc. Dont feel bound by standard
categories if they dont really fit. And if there is no theme
in particular let me know that too.

*ADMINS - Any Admins/Gods/whatevers (with email addresses
preferred but optional). If email addresses provided let me
know if you would prefer they stay off the list and
I'll keep them confidential.

*MUDLIB and DRIVER - Include name AND version if possible of each

*REAL LIFE LOCATION: Town/City, State/Province and Country
at least if possible. More detail if you like

*WEB PAGE - If the MUD has a web page would like to make a link
to it from the list, as well as add it to my list of MUD web
pages.

*OTHER COMMENTS (optional) - This gives you a bit of license
to show off special features, or add other important notes about
the status of the MUD or other sundry details. All I ask is that
you just keep it concise and to the point. Probably no more
than a few lines at most. Basically this is a place for any
other information you deem important enough to be on the review
list that doesn't fit into the above categories.

*CONTACT ADDRESS - Basically this is an email address I can contact
you on if necessary, and will not be displayed on the review list.
(Unless it appears in one of the previous categories already as well).
It's optional, but would be useful. I like to err on the side of
>caution *grin*.

I'm always open to any other suggestions about what other info you
think should be added to the list. If you think of anything let me
know and add the appropriate information in with your reply.

Still troubled? Here is an example of another mud which has replied:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
MUD NAME: Wallowing MUD
ADDRESS: 203.5.208.13 2000
MUD EMAIL ADDRESS : None
THEME: Generic Medieval (Social)
ADMIN(s): Stormdragon (stormy@desire.apana.org.au)
          Dude (moran@dstc.edu.au)
          Noddy (reagan@desire.apana.org.au)
MUDLIB: Mutant Zombie From Hell V 0.4-1/2
DRIVER: Modified Amylaar 3.2
REAL LIFE LOCATION: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
WEB PAGE: http://www.dstc.qut.edu.au/~moran/wal/wallowing.html
OTHER COMMENTS: Wallowing mud is a very colourful social mud with
fairly decent game play. A lot of improvements need to be made to the
way the mud works, and this is happening, but slowly. The MUD was
originally an LP 2.4.5 lib, but so many changes have been made to
every part of the lib that the only feature that is recognisable
is the layout of the town. The MUD was supposed to be a laboratory
when it was first designed - a place to perform experiments, but it
has turned into a social MUD, and looks like remaining that way.

That's about it. If you have any queries, I'd be more than happy to answer
any questions I can. Thanking you for your reply in advance and will let
you know when the pages are up and ready and the exact address so you can
check to make sure I got everything right *grin*.

At the moment, while growing quite large its still offline for the moment
till I get a few more. Will have it up online soon though with a bit of luck.

Peter Uren.
