# 海洋（基础版） / Ocean (Base Edition)

A wuxia MUD set in the world of Jin Yong's novels (new characters are asked not to reuse the novels' own character names), whose community calls itself the Qingyimeng, the "Covenant of Passion and Righteousness." Despite sharing the "Ocean" name with this project's hy2000/hy2002/hy5, a comparison found no lineage relationship -- master file hashes and securd.lpc/feature/skill.lpc don't match any of them. Characters roll four attributes -- strength, comprehension, physique, and agility -- and can randomize any or all of them at creation. New characters progress from registration through the newbie sequence (inn, West Main Street, Yangzhou martial hall), a Central Square brawl, death, the five-part Ghost-Gate dialogue with the White-Robed Ghost, and revival at the martial temple; the bulletin board's post/look chain also works end to end. Night genuinely darkens the map -- bare direction words like "north" stop working after dark with a "too dark to see" message, forcing "go <direction>" instead -- an intentional day/night mechanic, not a bug.

## Run natively with FluffOS

1. Build a current FluffOS driver from https://github.com/fluffos/fluffos
   (native `build` / `build-debug`; see that repo's docs).
2. Download and unzip `hy.zip` from the URL above (or clone
   `https://github.com/fluffos/mudlibs` and use `libs/hy/`).
3. From the unzipped lib directory, ensure `config.fluffos` points
   `mudlib directory` at this tree (the checked-in file may contain a
   maintainer-local absolute path — edit it to your extract path).
4. Start the driver:

/path/to/fluffos/build/src/driver config.fluffos
```

5. Connect a UTF-8 MUD client to `127.0.0.1:40182`.

- Admin / wizard login: `fluffos` / `Mud@2026`
- If you host this on a public network, change the published default
  admin password before opening the port.
